Anual events

Annual General Meeting

Held in central London each year and attended by members and invited guests, the AGM gives the Chairman the opportunity to tell members what the Society has been doing during the past year and what its aims are for the coming year.

The AGM also takes the statutory business e.g. Report & Accounts and election of council members. It is also an occasion when members can discuss matters face to face with Council members and the executive.

Area meeting programme

In the recent past several of our Area Meetings have been poorly attended. Our Council has asked us to consider new ways of carrying out face to face meetings with our Members. In the meantime, we will therefore suspend area meetings for 2012 and look at better ways to meet you in the future.

Armed Forces Day

The Society sees the annual Armed Forces Day as an important date in its calendar and takes an active part in the event, this years main event will be held in Plymouth on Saturday 30 June 2012, see www.armedforcesday.org.uk for details. We generally have a stand at both the national event and the London event each year, where we promote the Society and its work.  If you have any suggestions of how we could also be involved at a regional level, please click here to send them to us.

New ideas

Tell us your ideas for further events for members, whether it’s a trip to a battlefield, a social get together, a visit to an Armed Forces base with a tour provided – we want your ideas, we’ll publicise them on the website and if we get a decent response we’ll set about organising the event. Email us at memsec@forpen.co.uk
